Kevin Richard Martin aka The Bug regularly invites you to the Pressure night at Gretchen, and we set up his massive sound system for a whole day to make the alloy of grime, dub, hip-hop, dubstep, electronica and other facets of bass music not only audible, but also physically tangible.

Back in the 1990s, Justin K. Broadrick aka JK Flesh, together with Kevin Richard Martin, broke down the boundaries between industrial, noise and experimental hip-hop under the name Techno Animal. Broadrick was also briefly a member of Napalm Death and is known for his work with the industrial metal band Godflesh. As JK Flesh, he has been channeling his musical vision in the field of heavy/mutant techno and electronica since around 2012 - influenced by industrial, dub and power electronics as well as the extreme excesses of beat- and bass-driven electronic music.

"Bass Explorer" Dillinja has been shaping the drum'n'bass scene since the 1990s with powerful basslines and often brutally driving rhythms. His understanding of music goes far beyond the track: bass not just as a musical idea, but as an event, designed for maximum physical experience in the club. This characteristic, raw style has made him a permanent fixture on labels such as Metalheadz and with his own label Valve Recordings and established him as a sought-after remixer.

This time, The Bug can be heard alongside Dis Fig. The New Jersey-born producer and vocalist, who now lives in Berlin, has taken the long and obvious path from jazz to dark, noisy, distorted sound distillations. Together with The Bug, she has recorded the album "In Blue" - a misty, melancholy fusion of narco-dancehall, enraptured soul and an electronic dub-techno texture infused with dread, which is perfected over twelve tracks to create a soothing "tunnel sound". They shot the video for the track "You" at Gretchen.

Ghost Dubs is a project by Dub-Heavyweight Jah Schulz. The debut album "Damaged" (2024) was of course released via Pressure and contains twelve dark soundscapes that cast a pulsating spell over you. A distillation of 50 years of bass music, minimalist and pure, the essence of dub, so to speak. On the split album "Implosion", created together with The Bug, this approach is further condensed into hypnotic, bass-driven soundscapes between dub, ambient, drone and dub techno.

Building on around 20 years of sound engineering experience, Gorgonn constructs a powerful neo-dub sound, which he himself calls Sci-Fi Steppas. This means: a fierce combination of deep industrial dub, noise, techno and no wave. For example, listen to his album "Six Paths", a grandiose distorted fusion of industrial and bass intensity.
