... is back with his third studio album and is hardly recognizable to some people. He has built himself a small recording studio in the mountains where he can be "LOUD" in peace and quiet. Fat drums, spherical electric guitars and detailed lyrics define the new sound of the record, which he will release to listeners without compromise on his own label "BIG DIEHL RECORDS" on 22.05.2020. The lyrics are fierce and dig deep into the listener's emotions. Some of the songs are more reminiscent of genres such as hip-hop or synth pop than "singer-songwriter romanticism". ALEX DIEHL has been given a good shot across the bow after almost 2 years off due to illness and processes this hard time in 12 tracks. If you have to take it, you have to dish it out at some point. So it's not surprising that the songs fly around your ears like projectiles, filled with pent-up fears and stress, with a loaded tongue in titles like "meine Angst".

Of course, the obligatory piano ballad is not neglected, albeit with unusual and unpleasant themes, such as a desperate relationship without means on "25 Quadratmeter", or the death of the school bandmate who never had a chance at a life like "Christoph P." after 15 years of torment. It took 4 years to complete this album. This album is about fate that doesn't exist, about justice that doesn't exist and what you can do if you show courage despite everything. "Wieder am Leben", a title that makes Jan Böhmermann grin without having heard it, because someone is trying to get on the radio again in good old German pop style, but it tells exactly the opposite of what you would probably expect. It's about courage and the strength to accept difficult strokes of fate and fears, to forgive oneself and to see life as an opportunity, even if it's often not fair. This record is like therapy for listeners and writers alike. It doesn't tell you about sunshine without the rain, it's clear and honest. If you're going to live, then live it with everything that goes with it and full awareness - if it hurts, then please do it properly and if you're going to live high, then please do it like an immortal. You can try to hide from life, but like this album, it will always find you, no matter how quiet you are, it's LOUD.
