The five films at this year's Alpen Film Festival deal with different facets of mountain sports and being outdoors in general - from trail running to hiking and climbing.
In "Lucky Peach" by and with Magdalena Kalus and Susann Lehmann, the two trail runners take on their greatest challenge: the "Eiger Ultra Trail". After their first attempt, they ask themselves what failure really means - and how they deal with it.
"Into the Vastness" by and with Stefan Rosenboom and Norbert Leitner accompanies the two men on their hike through Austria. The film creates an ode to friendship in the rhythm of walking, in the rhythm of the days, with every new sky.
In "Gipfel-Liebe", Daniela and Robert Jasper share their 30 years of life and love with us. A touching family portrait that takes us to north faces, extreme climbing routes and expeditions all over the world.
The actions and thoughts of a climber and a dairymaid could not be more different, it seems. "Bodhichitta" with Michi Wohlleben and friends shows that alpine pasture and wall life, extreme sports and craftsmanship have a lot in common.
Last but not least, the two-minute short film "The Pulse Of The Spirit" by Eicke Bettinga takes a sentimental and humorous look at a father-son relationship.
