When she's not touring the world as one third of the Staples Jr. Singers and gracing prestigious festivals such as Le Guess Who?, WOMAD UK and the North Sea Jazz Festival with her vocal power, Annie Caldwell and her family band are preaching soul in West Point, Mississippi. With husband Joe as lead guitarist, their two sons on drums and bass and their three daughters as backing singers, Annie & The Caldwells radiate a power that is second to none. This has also won over ex-Talking Heads mastermind David Byrne, on whose label Luaka Bop the band will soon be releasing their new album. Before that, Annie & The Caldwells will be touring Europe for the first time. Between soulful grooves, crisp R&B and the irresistible electricity of gospel, this immensely talented family will take their audience on a journey to the south of the USA - ready to win the hearts of local audiences with their energy and joy.
