ON TWO WHEELS: A deeply moving yet life-affirming road movie full of warmth, wit, and humanity, which effortlessly balances subtle situational comedy with seriousness, melancholy, and comforting joy.

Sometimes looking back shows the way forward: Together with his best friend Philippe and their dog Lucky, filmmaker Mathias hops on his bike and sets off on a journey across Europe that is as unusual as it is personal. The chaotic trio follows the route that Mathias’s late son, Youri, had taken himself a few years earlier—from the French Atlantic coast to the Black Sea. What begins as a quiet search for clues turns into a surprisingly cheerful adventure full of unexpected encounters. With each stage of the journey, the two friends come to terms with their loss—sometimes in a touching way, sometimes in a humorous one—while still celebrating life.
