Burnt out and prepared. An evening of new Czech literature. Elsa Aids and Petr Šesták will be reading.
A whole series of new Czech literature is currently being translated for the Czech Republic's guest country appearance at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair. Some of the translations will also appear in the Cologne-based parasitenpresse, which is presenting its Czech program this evening. Authors Elsa Aids (Preparing for Everything) and Petr Šesták (Burnt Out) will be traveling from the Czech Republic to read from their novels in the original. The German text will be read by Munich-based author Thomas Empl. Munich-based translator Hana Hadas will talk about her work (Pacanka). Adrian Kasnitz will moderate.
The evening is sponsored by CzechLit and the German-Czech Future Fund.
