Automatic ・ Pop-Kultur Festival 2026
In the organizer's words:
August 24–30, 2026 | silent green Kulturquartier, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Kulturbrauerei, Pierre Boulez Saal, and more
Live concerts, experimental music formats, talks, and more. You can look forward to international and local artists, world premieres, and music in all its forms—from large stages to intimate club shows.
Crisp grooves that literally make you clench your teeth; cutting, thumping synths with dissonant edges; all topped off with a nonchalant vocal style that lends the whole thing an undeniable “sunglasses-cool” vibe. The Californian duo Automatic creates playful post-punk that feels as colorful as it is eerie. The two musicians, Izzy Glaudini and Halle Saxon, infuse their analog-sounding ’80s vibe with a mix of pop-infused new wave and hazy minimalism. This is reminiscent of The Go-Go’s—not least because Automatic named themselves after one of the band’s songs. Most recently, the group released their highly successful third album, *Is It Now?*, which comes across as smoother and more polished in places. This creates an energy that lends their live shows a fresh touch. As the opening act for Tame Impala, IDLES, and The Marías, Automatic has already demonstrated its charming intensity—and is now bringing that energy to the Pop-Kultur Festival.
