"When I come on stage, 80 percent of the audience has never heard a mandolin before in their lives," Avi Avital says. "To play in that atmosphere of curiosity and discovery is a privilege." In his concert, there is not only new music to discover in Bach and Vivaldi, but he also presents rarely played Italian composers of the 18th century and introduces a contemporary artist, Giovanni Sollima. The famous baroque ensemble Il Giardino Armonico is an ideal companion.
