Barock Gala - Cello Stravaganza | Kronberg Festival 2026 „Courage!“

To close out the Kronberg Festival, the stage once again belongs entirely to the cello.

Reinhard Goebel is one of the most influential and, at the same time, most questioning figures in the field of historical performance practice. For decades, he has challenged familiar listening habits and brought Baroque music to life with analytical precision, rhythmic energy, and uncompromising vitality.

Together with the Kronberg Young Soloists, he presents a “Cello Stravaganza, ” in which the cello steps out of its supporting role and takes center stage. Works by Giovanni Mossi, Antonio Vivaldi, and Giuseppe Valentini meet the expressive musical language of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Johann Gottfried Müthel.

This Baroque gala is not a solemn look back, but an energetic finale: virtuosic, spirited, and full of discoveries. Baroque with rock at its heart—and a musical cello fiesta to conclude “Courage!”
