Of all wind instruments, the horn is perhaps the meanest. How quickly one gets "bent out of shape" there. But the Englishman Ben Goldscheider blows away all the pitfalls - and plays the horn, Mozart or a new piece by Huw Watkins simply flawlessly.

2016 was a special year for Ben Goldscheider. Not only did he reach the finals of the "BBC Young Musician" competition with his horn. He was also able to shine with Mozart in front of 5000(!) enthusiastic listeners. The young star, who is sponsored by Daniel Barenboim, will perform a horn concerto by the Viennese classic with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen - as well as a horn concerto written for him by his compatriot Huw Watkins. Duncan Ward also conducts two symphonic poems by the Bohemian Antonín Dvořák, who is so popular in England.
