An internationally grown sound between playful indie, alternative rock and catchy pop is rarely found in Germany. The Cologne pop rock band BenjRose, however, manages to convince effortlessly with just these influences in their music. The single "What Matters Most", released in 2020, has almost two million streams and is the basis for the band's success, with over 50,000 listeners on Spotify every month. Behind the band BenjRose is singer Benjamin Rose, whose musical career took off at an early age. The son of Puerto Rican-Indian soul singer and actor Randolf Rose and a German mother, Benjamin grew up bilingual and also learned the language of music at a young age. That he belonged on stage became clear at the latest with an appearance on the children's edition of "Wetten dass...?". It was the early proof that Benjamin Rose meets all the parameters of a ramp sow (as he also calls himself). At the age of twelve, he signed his first record deal with BMG together with his brother RJ. After moving to Cologne, Benjamin Rose started singing in bands all over Germany and writing his own songs. In 2011, his path led him to a collaboration with Rami Jaffee, the keyboardist and producer of the Foo Fighters. A short time later, BenjRose was on stage at SXSW and supporting P!nk, in 2013 they shared the stage with Seeed, Hurts and Bosse at the NDR 2 Plaza Festival and it was only a matter of time before the band went on a big tour. The early collaboration with Rami Jaffee resulted in the joint production of the 2019 debut album "Where Do We Go?" - it's hardly surprising that the sound BenjRose reveal sounds quintessentially American. With the release of their debut album "Where Do We Go?" they went on tour in 2019 as special guest for Deaf Havana. Since 2020, the band has been releasing singles on a regular basis, of which the ballad-like "Baby", in addition to "What Matters Most", has been particularly exposed in terms of popularity. With their current single, BenjRose celebrate the "moment". With electronic elements and smooth synthesizers, "Moment" builds on an eighties-inspired sound that propels forward in both rock and pop. Somewhere between Imagine Dragons, U2 and that certain something that makes up the music of the Cologne band, you won't find another band in Germany that delivers such bombastic rock anthems with a highly explosive sound. Always in the center is the unique voice of singer Benjamin Rose - a voice that makes the difference and makes BenjRose sound so international. After home festival performances at Bochum Total, Hamburg's Reeperbahn Festival and Sound Of Peace in Berlin (among others), BenjRose have set the course to convince with their new songs, also as headliners. In November, the band will play two intimate headline shows: in Hamburg as well as in their native Cologne. -
