With its new program, the multi-award-winning CSM Big Band presents compositions by its band members, who have spared no expense or effort in having their compositions professionally arranged. A varied program, as varied as the musicians in the band.
In 1995, the Big Band of the Clara Schumann Music School played its very first concert in the newly-opened Jazz-Schmiede, and since then the guest appearances have become a firm tradition in the Schmiede schedule! The CSM Big Band, under the direction of Romano Schubert, has already been awarded the WDR JazzPreis, won first prize at the State Orchestra Competition three times in a row and won the German Orchestra Competition in 2021 under difficult conditions.
