In the organizer's words:
Your evening with the best international films about bike culture, adventure, travel & sustainable mobility
The Bike Film Tour is one of the most important film formats in the bike and outdoor community in Europe.
The program brings gripping stories from and with cyclists from all over the world to the big screen and shows extraordinary personalities, impressive landscapes as well as inspiring projects and expeditions on two wheels. The films are presented as part of a Europe-wide cinema tour that celebrates the bicycle as a sport, adventure and lifestyle with numerous events in various European countries.
Gravel or asphalt, in the peloton or alone - cycling has many facets, and the six new films of the BIKE FILM TOUR Season 2 show (almost) all of them:
We celebrate the forgotten Tour de France athletes of the 1980s, meet charismatic everyday heroes like Düsseldorf bike courier Albert Rabaev and teacher and flatland BMXer Mr. Omari Cato, who wants to inspire the next generation for his sport. We also go on a culinary bikepacking trip through Japan, mountain biking in Nepal and into the mysterious world of lost-place urban cyclocross.

MR. CATO
Teacher, trainer, role model: flatland BMX pro Omari Cato inspires the next generation
For some of his students, Mr. Cato is just a teacher. But most of them know: He not only manages to juggle a class, but also a BMX bike. In his discipline, Flatland BMX, he combines various tricks and spins on the bike into a single elegant performance - at a world-class level. He doesn't need ramps or rails for this, just a smooth, flat surface. Unfortunately, this "breakdancing on two wheels" fascinates fewer and fewer kids and young people, which is why Omari is doing everything he can to get the next generation interested in his sport with workshops and contests. His big dream? The Olympics - if flatland BMX becomes an Olympic sport one day...

HOW THE HARE RUNS
On the road in Düsseldorf with bike courier Albert Rabaev
Albert Rabaev is a bike courier in Düsseldorf. In Wie der Hase läuft he gives us an insight into his everyday life. He tells us why he loves his job, what sometimes annoys him and what crazy deliveries he has already completed. Even though he is constantly under time pressure at work, Albert loves his life between bike, spark and elevator and enjoys the freedom that his unusual job offers him. A feeling he shares with bike couriers all over the world.

BREAKAWAY FEMMES
Time travel to the female cycling pioneers of the 1980s
The Tour de France is the ultimate dream for many road cyclists. A dream that has also been within reach for women since 2022. Since 2022? Far from it! From 1984 to 1989, the crème de la crème of female road racing proved that women also have enough stamina and strength to compete in the Tour de France. They were at least as focused and ambitious as their male counterparts - yet their successes were never recognized to the same extent. In Breakaway Femmes, the female cycling pioneers revisit their Tour de France years. They recall legendary duels for the yellow jersey and cheering fans on the roadside, but also logistical nightmares, questionable awards and male prejudice.

OKAWARI, PLEASE!
Bikepacking in Japan: two friends explore the country & its cuisine
Japan - that's the destination Paul Ingram and Josh Tippett have chosen for their first big bikepacking tour. On their way from Kagoshima to Tokyo, they mainly want to explore rural Japan, which is rarely visited by tourists, and discover the diversity of Japanese cuisine along the way. As Josh wants to open a Japanese restaurant back home, the trip is the perfect opportunity for him to be inspired by traditional dishes and their regional variations for his own menu. The two bikepackers are certainly not lacking in hunger, as Japan also offers them the full range in terms of terrain and weather. And everyone knows that when you've really earned a meal, it tastes even better.

UCX
A mysterious invitation leads racing cyclists to an abandoned stadium
An invitation without a sender and a secret meeting place on the outskirts of the metropolis: what will take place here? And who will be there? Two dozen curious people can't resist the temptation. They come. On their racing bikes. From all parts of the city. Not a tight-knit community, just a bunch of strangers with the same goal: a hole in the fence. Behind it is an abandoned football stadium whose days are long numbered and which has certainly seen many outstanding games in its best years - but never a race like this one, which is being held inside it today.

MANDALA
Kilian Bron shows breathtaking mountain bike action in Nepal
Snow-capped mountains, lonely monasteries, majestic Buddha statues - there are many things we associate with Nepal. Mountain biking was not one of them. But then Kilian Bron took matters into his own hands. With his knack for unusual destinations, the exceptional MTB talent once again demonstrates his creativity in the search for interesting spots in Mandala. Whether it's a temple complex inhabited by monkeys in the capital Kathmandu or exposed trails on the steep slopes of the remote Dolpo Valley: Kilian always finds a way for his bike and proves against the impressive backdrop of Nepal that prayer wheels aren't the only thing that can turn here.
