Blumen & Brot - Lieder und Geschichten der Shoah

In the organizer's words:

When we talk about Jewish life and Jewish culture, we cannot avoid two topics: music and the Shoah.
"Flowers & Bread" is a unique concert evening with songs and stories about the Shoah. In this sensitive program, Leipzig singer-songwriter Lena Lehmann combines contemporary song art with Jewish songs from and about the Shoah. Accompanied by ukulele or piano, she sings protest songs from camps and ghettos in Yiddish and German with a changeable voice and complements them with her own pieces. She also tells the stories of these songs and, above all, the stories of the people associated with them.

The event takes place as part of the Leipzig Jewish Weeks and under the umbrella of Leipziger Liederszene e.V.
