A special encounter between literature and music:Author Julia Quinn—often referred to as “the Jane Austen of our time”—will read (in English) at the Philharmonie from her“Bridgerton” novels, which are set in early 19th-century England. For more than 25 years, the American author has been captivating international audiences with her distinctive style, which combines subtle humor, narrative ease, and a keen sense of emotional nuance.
At the heart of her successful “Bridgerton” book series is an influential family whose eight siblings embark on a quest for love and happiness within London’s high society, caught between social expectations and personal longings. The individual novels are self-contained yet together paint a multifaceted picture of the era. The famous series is being adapted into several seasons by Netflix, captivating millions of viewers worldwide.
The reading will be accompanied musically by astring quartet performing selected themes from the series. The result is an atmospheric evening full of wit, subtle humor, and Quinn’s unmistakable style.
