A new anthology on Berlin’s colonial connections, edited by Dr. Lorraine Bluche and Suy Lan Hopmann.
How colonial is Berlin? Published by the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin, “Who, What, Where Is Colonial?” sheds light on the city’s previously under-researched connections to European colonialism. These connections range from Brandenburg-Prussia’s involvement in the slave trade during the early modern period to contemporary (urban) political debates. To mark the publication of the anthology, individual authors will present their essays and delve deeper into the book’s themes in discussion.
