Cake Event NRW x SCHVARZ
In the organizer's words:
What is a Cake Event?
Imagine a long table full of homemade cakes and pastries—a colorful mix of grandma’s secret recipes, creative original creations, and sweet surprises. You bring your homemade cake, so together we can create a huge cake buffet. And since that sounds pretty much like an unattainable childhood dream, we’re teaming up with Schvarz Kaffee at their new location to offer a space for people of all ages who want to make that dream come true. With music, games, and surprises for amateur bakers of all ages. So we’re not only celebrating North Rhine-Westphalia’s first Cake Event, but also the soft opening of Schvarz Kaffee’s new location!
While you’re there, you can eat as much cake as you like and even take some home with you later. If there’s any cake left over, we’ll donate it to those in need so that nothing goes to waste.
Included in the ticket are:
- a free non-alcoholic beverage
- a cake box
- a cake server with a cutting edge (on loan) and cutlery (on loan)
- a participant wristband
- a ballot for the contest
- as much cake as you can eat
The event thrives on a wide variety of cakes. If you bring a cake, you’ll receive a discounted ticket. To give you the opportunity to bring your family or friends along, there are tickets available that don’t require you to bring a cake. However, these are limited!
Thanks to our partnership with Schvarz Kaffee, you can purchase various specialty coffees from their own roastery, as well as matcha and soft drinks.
Here’s how it works:
🏁 Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Show your ticket at our reception desk to receive a participation wristband and a name tag. You’ll also fill out an allergen form so others know what’s in your cake.
We’ll provide you with cutlery, a cake server, and a cake box after you check in.
The cake you brought will then be placed on the long table along with the allergen form.
Before the cakes are cut, you’ll have a chance to admire all the creations one last time.
🍰 Starting at 3:00 p.m., the cakes will be cut by their respective bakers, and the buffet will be open!
🎵 Enjoy the afternoon together with music and a few outdoor games for kids and adults. During the event, you can vote for the best cake.
🏆 At 5:00 PM , the winners of the contest will be announced. The top three places will receive a prize!
🥡 Starting at6:00 PM, you can pick up a box at our reception desk so you can fill your plate one more time and take the leftovers home.
Preparation and Participation Rules:
The following rules apply to the cakes:
- Homemade
- Not yet cut
- Maximum size of 35 x 35 cm
- Cakes baked in a baking pan or aluminum tray, as well as muffins or similar items, are not permitted. The cake should be served on a cake plate.
To ensure everyone can vote for the best cake, each creation needs a name. Prepare a name tag with the name of your cake and your own name. That way, you can accept compliments right on the spot during the event! Feel free to get creative with the design of the tag and the name you choose. ✨
