Cantvs Portugueses (Portugiesische Gesänge/Konzert)

The Portuguese ensemble Cantvs Portugueses from Cologne is already known for its variety of instruments, voices and repertoire, which alternates between Portuguese folk music, revolutionary songs by José Afonso, for example, and fado from Lisbon and Coimbra.

On June 26, Cantvs Portugueses will also bring music from Portuguese-speaking Africa to the stage, including music from Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau. This musical journey through the Portuguese language will end with three well-known folklore songs together with the community choir reCantvs.

reCantvs was founded in 2025 and was created in cooperation with the Cologne Adult Education Center and under the direction of the Cantvs Portugueses vocal soloists.
