The Sing-Along Event

At this concert, the audience will once again sing along in harmony (!) to the greatest hits of pop history: from classics like “Stand By Me” and “Hey Jude” to the latest catchy tunes.

Jan-Christof Scheibe—singer, composer, and, as founder of the Heaven Can Wait Choir, arguably one of Hamburg’s most charismatic choir directors—invites you to join in this communal choral experience. First and foremost, it’s all about the pure joy of singing: belting out the biggest hits together. But it’s even more wonderful when you can sing the songs in multiple parts as part of a choir. That’s why “musical training” is also on the program. Scheibe leads vocal warm-ups with his audience, and by the end—regardless of whether you can read music or not—he’ll even have you singing polyphonic choral pieces. Backed by his rousing band, he brings out unexpected potential in his singers.

WHO CAN JOIN IN? Anyone who loves to sing. No prior experience or knowledge of music notation is required. The audience experiences their voices in a larger context that brings many favorite songs
in a whole new way—as a wonderful group karaoke experience at “Chor to go.”
