📖 July’s theme: “textes à dire”
To illustrate this theme, we’d like to introduce a new addition to the media library: the illustrated poetry collection *L’homme sans paysage: Battre la campagne* by Mo Abbas and Jeanne Macaigne.
This volume features Mo Abbas’s poems in both Arabic and French. A decidedly urban author accustomed to roaming the streets of Marseille, this time he explores his relationship with nature—an environment that is foreign to him. To overcome this position of being a “man without a landscape,” he turns to words.
In contrast to this text, tinged with irony and doubt, Jeanne Macaigne’s beautiful illustrations celebrate the richness of nature. Inspired by naïve art and the 1970s, her colorful and detailed images reflect the illustrator’s personal and unique relationship with the body and the landscape.
And you—how do you view the nature around you? Come tell us more and explore the world of oral tradition!
🇫🇷 Language: French (Level B1 required)
🎟️ Participation is free for members of the media library
(on-site registration on the day of the event is possible)
