Effective January 1, 2024, social compensation law was transferred to a new Social Code, SGB XIV. The legislature used this opportunity to revise regulations regarding, for example, compensation for victims of violence, victims of vaccine-related injuries, and others. It has also included new grounds for compensation, such as child neglect, stalking, and the production, etc., of child pornography. The lecture provides an introduction to this area of law and highlights the changes.
