Cozy Sounds bei Bubbles: Karla Lee, Nange, Emily Velroyen
In the organizer's words:
Some evenings feel like they were made just for you. On September 23, we invite you once again to step out of your comfort zone and discover new music: dimmed lights, a drink in hand, music that grabs you before you even know why. Cozy Sounds at the zakk Kneipe with Karla Lee, Nange, and Emily Velroyen.
KARLA LEE (R&B, Neo-Soul)https://linktr.ee/karlalee
Karla Lee has established herself as one of the most promising talents on Cologne’s R&B scene. Her warm, deep voice wraps intimate emotions in a minimalist and profound sound—influenced by ’90s neo-soul and R&B, as well as by artists like Solange and FKA Twigs. In her songs, she sings about connection, fears, and self-discovery, and views her music as a total work of art that unites worlds of sound and imagery into a shared language.
Following her “EP (2022),” the artist delivers an impressive follow-up in 2025 with her debut album “INTIMATE,” in which she explores intimate thoughts and feelings that reflect on complex themes such as self-love and personal growth.
NANGE (Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop)https://nange.bandcamp.com/album/on-my-way
Nange creates a warm, melodic sound with influences from soul, jazz, and hip-hop. Together with Rio Robertson on saxophone, her music takes on a special depth—relaxed, playful, and full of emotion. She has been writing her own songs for years, developing her very own style in the process. Just the thing to immerse yourself in and enjoy.
EMILY VELROYEN (Dream Pop)https://music-hub.bio/emilyvelroyen
Emily Velroyen embodies German dream pop with intricate lyrics. “I’m here to make you feel something for a moment”—with this goal in mind, the 22-year-old sits down at the piano and puts her words to paper.
In the kaleidoscope of Emily’s songs, captivating harmonies blend with memorable melodies and lyrics to create colorful soundscapes. Her songwriting is particularly influenced by female musicians such as Olivia Dean, AURORA, and Alice Pheobe Lou. Velroyen’s songs explore themes like freedom, imagination in imperfect circumstances, and authenticity. She describes her music as “an encouragement to set yourself free and dance alone in the neon light, to reach for shooting stars beneath galaxies of plastic, and to dare, time and again, to shift your perspective.”
