A CDU member for decades until he resigned in January 2025 because he saw the joint vote by the CDU/CSU and AfD in the Bundestag as a normalization of the intolerable. His latest book "Mensch!" is a declaration of love for democracy - and a wake-up call.

Thomas Mühlnickel talks to him live on stage: How do we counter the shift to the right? What does this society really need right now? And what gives us courage, despite everything?
