Unboxing Goethe/Kippenberg: Vom Archiv zur Ausstellung
In the organizer's words:
How does a historical archival object become a compelling museum story? In the “Unboxing Goethe” seminar, students at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf worked with original sources from the Goethe Museum’s Kippenberg Collection—including letters, autographs, books, and portraits from Goethe’s time and the Romantic era. Based on their research, they have developed their own curatorial stations that complement the special exhibition *Out of the Shadows: Katharina Kippenberg and Women of Goethe’s Time* and open up new perspectives on female authorship and literary networks.
The results will be presented on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at the Goethe Museum. As part of the opening, the students will present their curatorial contributions and provide insights into their research and working processes.
