The ME is a complicated matter.

It doubts. It dreams. It falls in love with the wrong people. It says YES, even though it means NO - and sometimes NO, even though it actually wants to jump up and embrace life. In these momentary novels, we meet women who struggle with just such inconveniences in life. Women with longing, humor, stubbornness, shame, courage - and a fair amount of defiance.

Jutta Speidel calls them her "I-WOMEN" in her stories. They arise from a wealth of lifelong observations: from encounters, friendships, moments in life - from conversations in kitchens, bars, theater foyers or on park benches. Each of them carries their own life within them. Their sensitivity. Their vulnerability. Their willingness to compromise and their amazing strength - especially when they begin to feel the wings of independence.

And then there's HIM. The complement, the sensitive counterpart or the big nuisance, with his idiosyncrasies, his attraction, his contradictions. This counterpart is often the projection surface, the trigger for why everything changes. JUTTA SPEIDEL, born on March 26, 1954 in Munich, is a free spirit, actress, author and founder, as well as 1st chairwoman of HORIZONT e.V. Above all, she is a woman with attitude. Growing up in a liberal-minded family, she developed an early curiosity about people and their stories. This interest in life, its disruptions and possibilities, is still her inner driving force today.

She has been performing on stage and in front of the camera for more than five decades. Over 300 film and television productions, in more than 30 theater productions at home and abroad - roles between classic, comedy and character study. But behind all this, one constant remains: her unmistakable presence and a voice that has been familiar to many for generations.

In 1997, she founded the HORIZONT association, which supports homeless mothers and their children. For her, social commitment is not a sideshow, but part of her way of life. She has been honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and the Bavarian Order of Merit, among others.

As an author, she also seeks direct encounters. Four successful non-fiction books have been published by Ullstein Verlag, two of which were on the SPIEGEL bestseller list for months. Her debut novel "Amaryllis" was published by LangenMüller Verlag in 2024. She has also produced numerous audio books, including "Der Salzpfad" Bonnevoice Hörbuchverlag, "Amaryllis" Die GehörGang Hörbuchverlag, in which her voice becomes a personal narrator. She can currently be heard with "Amaryllis" in her musical readings and also solo throughout the German-speaking world.
