Even before MiQua opens, the MiQua:forum in the Red House on Alter Markt offers you a window into the future museum. Visit us every Thursday from 1pm to 8pm. From 4 p.m., our curators and the director of MiQua offer a varied and entertaining range of information. Get to know stories of 2000 years of coexistence in the heart of Cologne and learn more about construction, Jewish life and Roman and medieval archaeological finds.

Interactive and interesting things

The MiQua:forum also has something for visitors who like to discover the world interactively:

• Excursions into the past with virtual reality glasses. Visitors encounter three major MiQua themes in three virtual reconstructions. During a flight over and through the Praetorium, visitors can take in the impressive palace complex of the Roman governor. The film about the Jewish quarter shows the synagogue courtyard and the mikvah. In the film "Glockengasse", a Time Ride production, you experience a streetcar ride in 1926, past the Glockengasse synagogue.
• Selfie wall. A large photo depicts a typical patchwork of walls: Roman wall remains that were added in the Middle Ages and were in use in the basement of the associated house until the neighborhood was destroyed in 1943. The photo is an invitation to take a picture with or without various props.
• Picture gallery and showcases. A picture gallery presents original finds from the two-thousand-year history of the village, which will later be on display in the museum. Two showcases provide information about the history of the Praetorium's construction, while fire debris from the medieval Jewish quarter tells of the plague pogrom in 1349.
