With their unconventional sound andJack Underkofler’sunique voice,Dead Poet Societyhas been pushing the boundaries of modern rock music for years. This has earned the Los Angeles-based group—with its sometimes playful and progressive influences from indie pop, alternative rock, and metal—comparisons to visionary bands like MUSE or Queens of the Stone Age—and yetDead Poet Societysounds,aboveall, like themselves. The resulting authentic alternative rock sound led the band, following the release of their debut album in 2021, to energetic live performances at the Download Festival, Pinkpop, Jera On Air, Rock am Ring, Louder Than Life, Welcome to Rockville, and other established rock and metal festivals, where they’ve built a loyal fan base. In February 2027,Dead Poet Societywill embark on their biggest headline tour to date in Europe,bringingnew musicwith them. In Germany, they will perform at the Technikum in Munich, the Metropol in Berlin, the Essigfabrik in Cologne, and the Gruenspan in Hamburg. Dead Poet Societywas formed in 2013 at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston byJack Underkofler(vocals & guitar),Jack Collins(guitar), Nick Taylor(bass, until 2014, thenDylan Brenner), andWill Goodroad(drums). That same year, they released their first two EPs,“Haviland” and“Weapons,”showcasing their vision of modern rock music. This was followed by the EPs“Axiom”(2015) and“Dempsey” (2016), as well as a move from Boston to Los Angeles, from whereDead Poet Societyembarked on their first tours and celebrated their first major success with the song“American Blood.”After signing with Spinefarm Records in 2020, they released their debut album“-!-” in 2021. The album featured songs like“.intoodeep.”, “.CoDA.”, and“.SALT.”became some of the biggest fan favorites, helping to makeDead Poet Society’s sound more widely known on playlists around the world. With“Running In Circles,”the band kicked off a new album cycle in September 2023, which culminated in the 2024 release of“FISSION.”Following the album’s release,Dead Poet Societycollaborated with the Mexican rock band The Warningonthe album track“HURT”and released this version as a single. This was followed by a headlining tour in 2024 and worldwide festival appearances in 2024–2025, before the group returned with new music in May 2026. On their current single“Sinner Systems,”Dead Poet Society once againembrace the low-tuned nu-metal guitar grooves and oppressive atmosphere that have long since become the hallmarks of their music.
