Der Park gehört allen!: Spaziergang durch den Volksgarten mit Mithu Sanyal

Lying on the grass, hugging trees, dancing together in the park, having a barbecue or as a meeting place for a first date - a freely usable park is not a matter of course. In a joint walk with cultural scientist, author and journalist Mithu Sanyal, we will explore the Volksgarten and talk about its history(ies), the relationship of our bodies to nature and public space. In doing so, we will address the question of what forms of community an unfenced park makes possible and what political struggles have shaped the Volksgarten.

Duration: approx. 60 minutes. Distance approx. 2 km.
The walk is held in German.

Following the walk, the performance Unending love or love dies, on repeat like it's endless by Alex Baczyński-Jenkins will take place at 16:00 in the main hall of tanzhaus nrw. Free admission!

The walk will also take place in cold, slightly windy weather. In the event of continuous rain or similar, the event will be moved to the foyer of tanzhaus nrw and take place in the form of a talk.
