DFD Festival: Filmmuseum
In the organizer's words:

"Fashion, Film & Big Business with KÖ" meets "Glitz, Glamor, Guilaroff"!
MGM's Chief Hair Stylist Sydney Guilaroff was one of the most famous hair stylists (or hair dressers) in the Golden Age of Hollywood and was responsible for some of the most famous looks in Tinseltown.
Louise Brooks, for example, owed her iconic look to Guilaroff and under his guidance Vivian Leigh became the iconic Scarlett O'Hara. However, he was not only the man for the hair, but also the confidant of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Joan Crawford and Audrey Hepburn. The Filmmuseum Düsseldorf is delighted to be able to show four costumes from his personal collection in the permanent exhibition until the end of July: A gold lurex wrap dress owned by Marilyn Monroe; a beaded evening top worn by Doris Day during screen tests in the 1960s; a black silk dress trimmed with sequin accents which belonged to Audrey Hepburn and was worn by her during the filming of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S and a black coat owned by Rita Hayworth!

To mark DÜSSELDORF FASHION DAYS, Freifrau von Kö invites you to a special event at the Film Museum! Next Saturday, July 27, there will be an exclusive entertainment tour of the currently exhibited costumes and stories and anecdotes about Hollywood film & fashion from the golden age of cinema and the big stars!
In addition, we will show film and media clips personally selected by Madame with interesting references between film, fashion and their marketing via Hollywood in our traveling cinema with the opportunity to enjoy cocktails!

Saturday, July 27, 2024, 5:30 pm.
The event is free of charge with registration by e-mail to
filmmuseum@duesseldorf.de stating the participants and a telephone number. The number of guests is limited.
