Die geheimnisvolle Truhe und die Zirkusmaus (2-11 Jahre)

The Mysterious Chest and the Circus Mouse 🎪🐭✨

A play featuring a circus, music—and a mouse who throws everything into disarray!

With this play, Coq Au Vin was even invited to the 2024 Christmas party at the Federal Ministry of the Interior 🎄—where they delighted the children of our German political leaders! (See photo with Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser.)

Lothar Lusche, an old junk dealer, is in deep trouble: Business is slow, customers are staying away—and now, of all times, a cheeky, gluttonous “circus mouse” has taken up residence in his shop! She dances all over him, steals his food, and throws everything into disarray with her acrobatic antics.

Lusche tries everything to catch her 🪤—but the mouse is always one step ahead of him. When he finally snags her, the unexpected happens: The kids in the audience take the mouse’s side! Together, they help her escape—and in the end, it turns out that this mouse was Lusche’s greatest blessing. 🍀

A funny, whirlwind play featuring real acrobatics, music, audience participation—and lots of heart.

Up-close, interactive, and hilariously funny—for young and old alike.
(The kids regularly go completely wild! 😄)

Running time: approx. 50 min
For children ages 2 to 11

“A classic theme: the mouse wants cheese, the human wants the mouse. It’s a familiar story, but the Coq Au Vin Children’s Theater knows how to tell it in an unexpectedly fast-paced way. With a blend of theater and acrobatics, even the youngest audience members are immediately swept up in the action, while the performance always has a charming wink in store for parents as well. So in the end, it doesn’t really matter who catches whom amid the juggling and floating audience members… This show certainly won’t keep kids in their seats! Wonderful acrobatic theater, authentically staged in a circus tent for young and old alike.”
