Die Kunstszene im Kosovo im Fokus

On the last weekend of the exhibition But you, yourself, with your own hand must open this door, the Westfälischer Kunstverein invites you to an event that brings together young protagonists of the Kosovar art scene for a dialog. Various perspectives will be presented by artists who either live and work in Kosovo or have a connection to the country. They will provide insights into their artistic practice and working conditions in Kosovo.

A particular focus is on the diasporic view of the country. Due to various historical events such as wars, political instability and economic insecurity, more Kosovars live outside Kosovo than inside. The growing feminist activism, which has gained importance in recent years, will also be discussed. A change in the rigid gender roles in the country will be discussed.
