Goethe's famous epistolary novel tells the story of young Werther, whose passionate love for Lotte leads him deeper and deeper into a conflict between emotion and social reality. A haunting combination of spoken word and music creates an evening of theater about longing, exuberance and the fragility of a sensitive person.

Hello esteemed Theater Tiefrot, we were recently at your Werther. It really was a great evening of theater, brilliantly and touchingly performed by Lippmann, the best of classical acting. The arrangement with the viola player, the projections and the recordings was also very successful and powerful. We enjoy coming to see you often and appreciate your work under the most difficult conditions. However, the Werther has prompted us to triple the standing order for our contribution to the Förderverein.
