Mr. and Mrs. Ralston's remote boarding house is cut off from the outside world by a snowstorm. They hear about a murder in London over the radio. One by one, different guests turn up at the boarding house and a policeman announces himself over the phone to investigate. Despite their alibis, all the guests are under suspicion. Suspicion grows. Is the murderer to be found in the guesthouse or is the public being led on the wrong track?
