Theaterschiff an Land, as a guest in the French Church in Potsdam

Ulugbek Palvanov is one of the most outstanding piano talents and one of the great virtuosos of our time. He never puts his virtuosity in the foreground. For him, virtuosity is the means to shape the music with all its nuances and subtleties, with head and heart. His focus is on the piano literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is usually the highly virtuoso works, which are considered almost unplayable, that interest him.
In the solo concert in December 2025, Ulugbek Palvanov convinced the audience of his grandiose skills in the Französische Kirche Potsdam and showed another facet at the Theaterschiff in Potsdam in April by masterfully interpreting film music. Now his fans can look forward to another new concert.

Ulugbek Palvanov was born in Uzbekistan in 1974. He received his first gifted piano lessons there at the age of five and later studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and later at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the Berlin University of the Arts. He is the winner of the International Piano Competition in Portugal, the Ferruccio Busoni Competition, the Steinway Competition Berlin, the Robert Schumann Competition, the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv and the Arthur Schnabel Competition at the Berlin University of the Arts. He received the Cultural Award of the German Order of St. John for his outstanding achievements in the Federal Republic of Germany and won the silver medal at the Global Music Awards in the USA.
He has given concerts in Europe, the USA and Japan. Among others, he has performed with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bolzano Chamber Orchestra, the Tbilisi Philharmonic Orchestra and the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. He has lived in Berlin for twenty years.
