Christmas - the festival of love, harmony and perfect family photos. Contemplation, candlelight, the scent of cinnamon and roasted almonds. Everyone loves each other. In theory.

But between the tin of cookies and the wrapping paper, things are burning brightly - and not just at the top of the fir tree. Grandpa is telling the same story for the umpteenth time, Aunt Erna has had too much mulled wine again and Uncle Klaus is discussing politics with Dad - right next to the Advent wreath. The children are crying, the mother-in-law is sighing, and somewhere the fir tree is actually burning. Has it always been like this?
