Digital Independence Day

On the first Sunday of every month, we team up with Brotfabrikto host an event at 2:00 p.m. as part of Digital Independence Day.

Objective

We want to create a program that helps people move away from the big tech companies that track their users and finance themselves through data trading. We provide tips on alternatives to the major services and help with installing these solutions as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

With the help of our “switching guides,” you can switch, for example, from WhatsApp to Signal, from Windows to Linux, from Chrome to Firefox, or from PayPal to Wero.

Agenda

We usually begin with a short presentation on privacy- and democracy-friendly solutions, which can be explored further during the event. For those interested, this may be followed by a more in-depth presentation on a specific topic. Afterward, participants can briefly present their individual topics, which can then be discussed and worked on in small groups. This constitutes the main part of the event.

Location

The event will take place at the Brotfabrik (Kreuzstr. 16, 53225 Bonn Beuel). Not at the Datenburg!

Duration

The event usually lasts about three hours. If all your questions are answered sooner, you’re welcome to leave early.
