Performance invites you to participate and inform yourself - on the topics of data sovereignty/data sovereignty, digital competence and digital self-defense
Increasingly used digital services, smart services and the smart city only work if everyone involved has the necessary skills. This also includes knowledge of dangers on the Internet, commercial data collection and digital self-defense of one's own privacy.
The de:bunk CGN project [1], which is funded by the City of Cologne, is aimed in particular at adults who use or want to use digital services but have no professional access to IT, computer science or data protection. This target group of "digital laypersons" can use the project to develop skills to assess digital services with regard to possible risks and, if necessary, to use safer alternatives.
On 9.1.2025, the project will be performing together with media artist Susanna Schoenberg [2]. In the VHS Forum/Foyer of the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum from 3 - 8 pm there will be the opportunity to receive information and suggestions. In the performance "dummy variables", which illustrates the classification of data, interested parties can take part themselves at 6 and 7 pm.
de:bunk CGN is a project of un:box cologne [3], a Cologne funding project as part of the 2nd phase of the "Smart Cities made in Germany" funding series of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB).
