Many people have very little free time.
They work a lot.
They want to achieve and accomplish a lot.
That's why leisure time together is becoming rarer.
And what about places for shared leisure time?
Many places charge admission.
They are private.
Or you're not allowed to stay there.
There are fewer and fewer places for everyone.
In Cologne, there is the Kalk-berg in Cologne-Kalk.
The Kalkberg is close to the highway.
And it is surrounded by rubble.
In other words, stones and boulders.
It is a large open area.
But it is closed off by fences and barriers.
But the Kalkberg could be a park.
A place of recreation in Cologne.
KALK-PARK 3001 transforms the Kalk-berg into a vacation spot of the future.
The Kalk-berg is full of stones and boulders.
It is overgrown with plants.
Places of relaxation are being created here.
Places where we don't have to do anything.
Visitors discover the Kalkberg with an audio tour.
They experience the history of the Kalkberg.
They reoccupy the sunny spots between concrete and nature.
It is an invitation.
We reclaim the unknown and closed places of the big city.
We find places of relaxation.
Where you don't expect them.
Kalkberg is a place full of differences:
Chemical waste used to be stored there.
Today it is a vantage point.
And it is developing back into a place with wild nature.
In KALK-PARK 3001, you can feel the history of Cologne.
We ask the question:
Who owns the space we are standing on?
The project combines activism, art and urban history.
KALKPARK 3001 is an audio walk. But please note: The tickets for easy language are not tickets for the regular audio walk. They include participation in an interpreted version in plain language.
If you have any questions, please contact Iris.
You can write an email: iris.haist@sommerblut.de
Or call: 0157 74999062
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the event. Admission after the start is unfortunately not possible.
Headphones will be provided on site.
The audio walk takes place outdoors. Weatherproof clothing is an advantage.
The route includes slight inclines. The terrain is uneven and requires sturdy footwear.
There are ribbons at the edge of the paths that mark the course of the trail. The path may not be left for the entire duration of the audio walk. Staff at the foot of the Kalkberg will welcome the public and point out the starting point of the audio walk.
