Everyone is talking about the transport revolution, and the mobility of the future has become one of the major trending topics. But why is this even important? If traffic presents us with such major challenges, why don't we just stay at home?

Is mobility a basic need?
This is precisely the fascinating question that award-winning director Kristian Gründling explores in his film A HUMAN RIDE. With camera and microphone in tow, he embarks on a unique journey through cities and villages, train stations and parks, petrol stations and garages. He meets cab drivers, scientists and ordinary people and collects their very personal perspectives on everyday mobility.

In the process, he comes across surprisingly emotional stories that touch us, make us laugh and make us think. The film reveals the multi-layered significance of mobility for our freedom and a fair, socially acceptable coexistence, without resorting to simple solutions or stereotypical thought patterns. But what are the limits of this freedom?
