DRAMATIST

Not a single song released and already burning down the stage at Wacken Open Air, Breminale and Reeperbahn Fesival? What seems almost impossible, DRAMATIST have already pulled off in 2025 without batting an eyelid.
With Gregor Hennig (Muff Potter, Die Sterne) and Kurt Ebelhäuser (Donots, Pascow), DRAMATIST have
DRAMATIST involved two producers in the recording of their debut album wasting words
who stand for authentic music. The result is an album that is bursting with
musical self-confidence and social attitude.
It was therefore not surprising that DevilDuck Records broke one or two label rules for this album, for example that albums must have 10 songs. The label also found the album with these 8 songs so coherent and uncompromising that it would have been an outrage not to release this album in exactly the same way. In general, DRAMATIST's uncompromising approach suits them very well, because they do their very own postcore thing here. Three guitars don't just flow into a wall of sound, but form the centerpiece of an album that is melancholic to the point of distraction, angry and loud and also tender and broken. And the band brings this unvarnished to the stage. Even the unique and raw vocals are completely free of embellishments. DRAMATIST are a band that certainly come into their own on larger stages, but ultimately know how to take on even the darkest punk rock cellar.

TAYOURI

TAYOURI are members of the former Wuppertal bands Winston/The Spines/Uvula, which might be familiar enough to local fans of 90s/00s rock music. Those who like to listen to bands like Foo Fighters or Motorpsycho will feel right at home with TAYOURI.

LAYERS

LAYERS from Wuppertal and Solingen is made up of people who played every socket in Germany and abroad two decades ago. Marius Götze and Frederik Groborsch in bands like TUPAMAROS, LEARY or LOCKJAW, Carsten Wagner as part of FORCED TO DECAY and currently KONTROLLE as well as Micha Walmsley as singer, guitarist and songwriter in THREE.MINUTE.POETRY, who were part of the DEFIANCE RECORDS roster alongside PALE, ONE MAN AND HIS DROID and AMBROSE and established the Midwest emo sound in Germany.

And now, 20 years later, there are still songs that want to get out. Having started out as a solo platform, Micha has re-recorded the first TMP album SLOWLY LEARNING THAT LOVE IS OKAY from 2001 acoustically under the name LAYERS and released it in a small vinyl edition via the Viennese label Goddamn Records. The rest came as it had to: played shows, tasted blood, remembered the good times and got the other 3 on board. Rehearsed, wrote new songs, produced them ourselves and now we've arrived in the here and now.
