eat! Berlin im Le Faubourg

Given his successful start as head chef at Le Faubourg, it is almost impossible to call Lukas Hackenberg a newcomer. Together with his team, the 27-year-old has skillfully brought a new lightness to the fine-dining restaurant's French-influenced cuisine. For the eat! gourmet festival on March 1, 2024 under the title "Autour du coquille", the young chef will show that he knows how to dust off even the maritime classics of haute cuisine. Guests won't find out the menu until the evening, but Hackenberg's creativity is just as reliable as his craft: after training as a chef at the Hotel Palace in Berlin, he joined the Duke restaurant as a commis de cuisine, where he was promoted to demichef de partie after a year. When the opportunity arose to work with 2-star chef Daniel Achilles, he moved to Restaurant Reinstoff until it closed in 2019. Hackenberg then became Demichef de Partie at Restaurant Pots before starting as Sous Chef at Restaurant Dae Mon at the end of the same year. Most recently, Lukas Hackenberg was Sous Chef at Restaurant Faelt under Björn Swanson and then Sous Chef at Hotel and Restaurant Jardi d ́Arta on Mallorca.

The wine for the 5-course menu comes from the VDP winery Leitz. Some of the soils here contain sediments from the tropical sea dating back to the Tertiary period. This closes the circle, which is not only constantly broken by Lukas Hackenberg, but also by the wine accompaniment. The grapes for the accompanying wines from the Rheingau have ripened on different soils - in the end, Le Faubourg is always about enjoyment and not about theory and fixed rules.

The 5-course menu "Autour du coquille" - including wine pairing - costs 179 euros per person. Admission is on March 1 from 6:30 pm, the menu starts at 7 pm.
