Edelweiss Pirates Festival
Free & outdoors. 5 stages. 25 bands. A festivalhonoring the youth resistance during the Nazi dictatorship
In 2026, the Edelweiss Pirates Festival will take place for the 22nd time. Twenty-five bands will perform on five stages, transforming the Friedenspark in Cologne’s Südstadt into a living memorial to the Edelweiss Pirates and other nonconformist youths who gathered in parks and forests to sing their own songs and resist the Nazi regime.

In addition to the concerts and gigs, the Baui Hall will host the NS Documentation Center’s traveling historical exhibition“Of Navajos and Edelweiss Pirates—Nonconformist Youth Behavior in Cologne, 1933–1945.”The Intergenerational Café also invites you to come and mingle there. In the forecourt and in the “Rosengarten,” there will also be information and food stands, the proceeds from which help finance the festival! So, be sure to buy drinks and food on-site and support the festival with these much-needed donations! This year’s theme is“City, Country, Resistance”—we look forward to seeing you there!
