Ensemble Aventure: Ελλάς – Ränder und Zentren

The concept of - often self-proclaimed - centers has been increasingly called into question in recent times. With "Ελλάς - Margins and Centers", the Freiburg ensemble Aventure turns its attention to contemporary music by composers of Greek origin and performs two works by Minas Borboudakis, who has lived in Munich for many years, as well as a commissioned composition by the Berlin composer Irini Amargianaki. With this program, the Freiburg ensemble questions the geographical, aesthetic and personal centers of contemporary music and reflects on the tension between the center and the margins on various levels.

Irini Amargianaki (*1980) - It's all Greek to me (2023/24) for flute, clarinet, bassoon, percussion, piano, violin, viola and violoncello - premiere, composition commission funded by the Musikfonds

Minas Borboudakis (*1974) - ROAI V [midi ballade] (2010) for viola, bass clarinet and prepared piano

MinasBorboudakis (*1974) - Photonic constructions I ( 2006) for flute (also bass flute), clarinet (also bass clarinet), percussion, piano, violin, viola, violoncello

Dimitrios-Nikolaos Stavrou *1991) - Αλλοίωσις (Alloíōsis, change) (2021) for bass clarinet, bassoon, percussion, piano and viola

Georgia Koumará (*1991) - I dreamed a dream that wasn't mine (2016) for flute (also piccolo), bass clarinet, bassoon, violin, viola and violoncello

Vasiliki Krimitza (*1989) - Collider (2015) for flute, bass clarinet, percussion, piano, violin and violoncello

Vasiliki Kourti-Papamoustou (*1988) - Duo (2016) for viola and violoncello
