For 25 years, the Munich-based collective EXPRESS BRASS BAND has been celebrating a distinctive brass band style in the spirit of the Sun Ra Arkestra and the Art Ensemble of Chicago—a style deeply rooted in jazz, soul, and Afrobeat, with influences from Middle Eastern music ranging from the Maghreb to Afghanistan.
