Anyone who comes from the Beethoven city of Bonn, like pianist Fabian Müller, has an intimate relationship with his music. This is exactly what the winner of the Busoni Piano Competition underlines with the 1st Piano Concerto. The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under Paavo Järvi will also play two "London Symphonies" by Haydn, Beethoven's teacher.
While Beethoven often toyed with the idea of traveling to England one day, Joseph Haydn set off there twice. And each time Haydn was celebrated as the "Shakespeare of music". Haydn particularly delighted his fans with the 12 "London Symphonies". Paavo Järvi has selected No. 97 from the first trip to England, the innovative spirit of which Beethoven later honored in his "Eroica". Symphony No. 102, which culminates in a magnificent double fugue, dates from 1795.
