Female Fall Vol. 2 - ELSA

After last year's great success, "Pure Note" puts even more female artists from around the world in the spotlight for five weeks as part of the autumnal cultural series "Female Fall".

Elsa Steixner, born and raised in Vienna, spans an arc with her music that is able to combine the sound of the jazz and blues tradition with the most intimate facets of singer-songwriting. Together with Julian Bazzanella (Keys) and Daniel Louis (Drums), whom she met while studying music at the ArtEZ University oP the Arts in Arnhem (NL), and Jakob Lang (Double Bass), who studies at the MUK Vienna (AUT), she founded the band ELSA in 2021.

The quartet has since played several concerts in the Netherlands, Germany and Austria and won the Viersen Jazzband Challenge in 2022 with an original composition. In June 2023, Elsa Steixner was nominated for the Heij Konijn Prize by the ArtEZ Academy of Music.

Significantly influenced by the jazz and soul music of African American artists:inside, as well as the acoustic pop of the 1970s, ELSA's compositions differ in genre and subject matter, but meet in the essential points of sincerity and dedication. This embrace of tradition, combined with a curious and attentive look at the present, gives the music a timelessness without diminishing its relevance.

ELSA's debut album "A Day On Solid Ground" was released in May 2023, and the band will tour the Netherlands in the fall of 2023 as part of Popronde, Holland's largest touring festival.

For the concert we will offer all guests a fine selection of delicious vegan finger food, which, like the drinks, will be available at the serving points in the counter area. Admission to the concert is free. A reasonable hat donation for the female artists is requested.

The Female Fall series will be held indoors. There will be a small number of seats at tables (no service) that can be reserved. Reservations are not necessary for an impromptu visit.
