Fest der Demokratie | Arsch Huh, Zäng ussenander

On August 25, Arsch Huh e.V. is organizing a festival of democracy together with numerous partners as part of the Gamescom City Festival 2024 from 3 to 7 p.m. on Cologne's Hohenzollernring between Friesenplatz and Rudolfplatz.

In recent months, countless people across Germany have taken to the streets to protest against right-wing extremist organizations and parties, above all the AfD

In Cologne, too, hundreds of thousands demonstrated against the AfD's plans to "deport people from Germany according to racist criteria - regardless of whether they have a German passport or not". These were discussed at a secret meeting of top AfD politicians, neo-Nazis and financially strong entrepreneurs and uncovered by Correctiv research.

These protests were and remain important. Our democracy needs a self-confident point of view that inspires people and provides them with new motivation. Arsch Huh focuses on art and culture in order to motivate people to become democratically active and to show future perspectives for a just society.

We are organizing a festival of democracy with live music, cabaret and spoken word performances. At numerous stands, initiatives and organizations will present their work to secure and further develop our democratic community.

On the occasion of the state elections in Saxony and Thuringia on 1.9.24 and in Brandenburg on 22.9, we are showing our solidarity with many local people by supporting initiatives and organizations that are committed to a socially just democracy in their states and are fighting against racism and neo-Nazis.

We also support the demands of more than 100 initiatives in eastern Germany who are calling on the Federal Chancellor to swiftly implement the reform of the non-profit law promised in the coalition agreement.
