FESTIVAL AVANT-GARDEN

Hamburg's pearl of the art summer gardens shines again and invites you to dip in and out before and after (and for the overtaxed also during) the performances: Love and snacks are available in the gastrotainment area of the Peacetanbul restaurant, while free performances spread throughout the Avant-Garten provide low-threshold access to the avant-garde. This year's GROWING GROUNDS discourse and concert series invites you to a top-class literature and music program on the Waldbühne (neighbors, don't worry: unplugged!), and as always, the Migrantpolitan opens its doors almost every evening with all-time festival favorites such as Soli-Casino and Hools of Fashion. At the weekend, the legendary headphone parties by Hamburg live art group JAJAJA will transform the garden into a dance floor and underground icon MARTINA PALM will create unique portrait drawings of visitors, while NAN GOLDIN's legendary "Ballad of Sexual Dependency" will be shown in the vestibule. The avant-garden will be designed by the Hamburg art collective Baltic Raw Org, which has already been responsible for the garden design at previous festivals. In the fall, the renovation of Kampnagel will begin with the "performative construction site".
