The little black cat has barely rubbed the sleep out of her eyes when she is shocked to realise that a huge flood is burying the old world beneath it. She barely manages to save herself on a sailing boat, where a thieving monkey, a good-natured Labrador, a sleepy capybara and a proud secretary bird gradually find refuge. It soon becomes clear that their differences are their strength and together they face the challenges of the new world.
