"Freddy & Friends" premieres at Munich's Volkstheater: Comedian Freddy Ekué extends an invitation. Together with a rotating cast of guests, he creates a mixed comedy show that blends entertainment, personal stories, and spontaneous moments.

For the first installment, Freddy Ekué welcomes Abeku Okyere, Kristina Bogansky, Yonathan Litzius, and Ana Lucia to the stage this evening. 

Freddy Ekué is a German-Togolese-Austrian stand-up comedian from Bavaria—an artist who defies easy categorization. Long since no longer an insider’s tip: appearances on shows like “TV Total” and “Beste Comedians Deutschlands,” as well as tours as the opening act for Kaya Yanar, have quickly put him on the German comedy map.

Offstage, Freddy often comes across as the likeable, spacey type—somewhere between a sushi chef and a fashion model. But as soon as the lights come on and he holds the microphone, it’s clear: this is exactly where he belongs. Then chaos turns into precision: with a sharp eye, honest self-deprecation, and stories that blend cultural background, identity, and the madness of everyday life, Freddy Ekué strikes a chord with his audience.

His comedy is cheeky, emotional, and relatable—a mix of observation, self-revelation, and pointed commentary on reality. Or to put it another way: Freddy doesn’t just tell jokes. He tells stories about life—only much funnier.
